Montería is a municipality and city located in Northern Colombia, capital of the Department of Córdoba. The city is located 50 KM (30 Miles) away from the Caribbean, by the Sinú River. Montería was located within the boundaries of the Colombian Department of Bolívar until 1952 when it separated from Bolívar and became the capital of the new Department of Córdoba.The city of Monteria, Columbia is situated in the Sinu valley and is divided by the Sinu river. The entire region is surrounded by natural attraction. The place is however sparsely populated and boasts of the tropical flora and fauna that is characteristic of the region.
